Lori Bodnar


Lori is the newest member of the Head Start Basketball Coaching Staff.  She was the women’s associate head basketball coach at Kent State for 24 seasons.  During her tenure at Kent State, Lori was voted at one of the top assistant coaches in the nation.  Her main responsibilities with the program included her role as recruiting coordinator and the coaching of Kent State’s post players.

While at Kent State, Lori recruited and coached 14 All-MAC selections and two MAC tournament MVPs.  She was the director of the Kent State Women’s Basketball Camps for 18 years. One of the largest team camps in Ohio, it drew nearly 1,000 attendees annually.  Before starting her coaching career, the Blaine, Ohio native was a four-year letter winner as the starting center at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio.  Lori graduated from Rio Grande in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in business education.

Lori is a member of the National Basketball Coaches Association and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Lori has brought her coaching talent and enthusiasm to our HITS program and is also one of our HSB Skills Trainers.  We are excited and fortunate to have  an experienced former Division 1 basketball  coach like Lori on our staff.
