Guidestone Holiday Family Giving Event

Each holiday season Head Start Basketball Train for Life will be partnering with Ohio Guidestone (formerly Berea Children’s Home) to help local families in need. We will be sponsoring multiple families by purchasing Christmas gifts from their wish list.

We hold a gift wrapping and pizza party when everyone will bring their purchases and we will all wrap the gifts together. The gifts will then be delivered to Guidestone in time for Christmas. Last year we had a great time and we were able to help make Christmas brighter for eight local families.

If you and your family are interested in joining us for this great event next December please contact us as soon as possible. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

Guidestone Moms First Baby Shower

Head Start Basketball and a team of 6th grade girls and their families teamed up with Ohio Guidestone’s Moms First program to provide a baby shower for 8 expectant Moms participating in the program.  We were able to help those moms get their baby’s lives off to a good start.

MomsFirst  provides the support moms need, whether this is their first pregnancy or not. A highly trained Community Health Worker assists moms with their health and social service needs, parenting classes, questions they may have about prenatal care, baby care, birth control or family planning.
