The HEAD START BASKETBALL CAMPS emphasize the FUN-damentals of basketball with individual attention given to each camper. The campers will be taught the basic techniques of shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense. The camp will not only provide a fundamental base for each player, but will also be a fun and enjoyable experience for every camper.
HEAD START BASKETBALL CAMPS are for boys and girls.
We begin each day at HEAD START BASKETBALL CAMPS with our FUN-damental station work. During this time our coaches work with the campers on developing their individual basketball skills. We want to make the most of every day and we do that with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Learning is FUN!
We have a minimum of three contests per day. These include free throws, knockout, and our most popular, shooting for basketball cards. Our contests are designed to give every camper a chance to be successful and feel good about themselves.
At HEAD START BASKETBALL CAMPS we play half-court games almost exclusively. We believe that this is the best way for young players to apply what they have learned during their station work. We teach our campers to play team basketball. We want everyone to play hard, play smart, and have outstanding sportsmanship.
At the end of each session we have an awards ceremony which parents are encouraged to attend. Campers have a chance to earn various awards such as Most Improved Camper, Hustle Award, Camp MVP, Team Awards, and others.
Each camper who participates in camp receives an official HEAD START BASKETBALL CAMP T-shirt.
